Save the date: The second International FReDA User Conference will take place in Mannheim on October 7 and 8, 2024. National and international researchers from all disciplines who conduct research with data from the FReDA panel or with data from the German Family Panel pairfam or the Generations and Gender Survey (GGS) are invited to attend. Proposals for presentations can be submitted now - the submission deadline is May 12, 2024.
If you would like to participate and present a paper, please send a short abstract by email to support.freda@gesis.org. Your abstract should be no longer than one page and should include the title of the presentation and the names, email addresses and institutional affiliations of all authors. Please also include the data set used, your research question, theoretical background, and the method and results of your analysis.
The deadline for submission of proposals is May 12, 2024, and notification of acceptance will take place promptly. Depending on the number of submissions, some submissions may also be assigned to an additional poster session. The best contribution will be selected by a jury and awarded a prize of €500, sponsored by infas - Institute for Applied Social Science.
The aim of the FReDA user conference is to offer researchers a forum where they can present their (preliminary) research results and receive feedback and suggestions from other users of FReDA, pairfam or GGS data. Of course, the user conference is also a good opportunity to network and to think about future collaborations.
We will inform you about the conference program on our website as soon as possible. However, it is already clear that there will be keynotes by Prof. Pia Schober on “(Un)doing Gender in Romantic Relationships of Young Adults” and by Prof. Denis Gerstorf “On the Role of Historical Change for Adult Development (in Midlife)”.
